Activities
Cedarkirk offers a variety of activities
suitable to a variety of ages. Depending upon your groups desired experience,
these activities help you learn and grow as people. You will hopefully
learn more about yourself, your environment, and your faith as you swim, canoe,
zip, or simply relax.
Most of the activities are available year
round. Activities marked with an asterisk (*), require facilitation by Cedarkirk staff. Please indicate the activities that your group wishes to use either by marking them on your reservation form, or by contacting our office prior to your
arrival.

Swimming*:
Cedarkirk's unique Y-shaped swimming pool is ideal for all
ages. Three areas of the pool offer a diving well, water volleyball, and a shallow wading
area. The pool is open at predetermined times during the warmer months, and lifeguards are provided. Special hours for use may be pre-arranged
too. |
 |
Canoeing*:
The Alafia River flows through Cedarkirk's property, and our canoe trip travels through the pristine Alderman Ford Nature
Preserve. Once you set out on your trip, you will experience a winding, lively river and see much of Florida's tropical
landscape. |
 |
Tubing*:
A fun and relaxing
adventure! Tubers put in on Cedarkirk property and float down the gentle Alafia
River. At the end of the trip, small rapids provide for an ideal location to search for shark's
teeth. |
 |
High Ropes Challenge Course*:
Cedarkirk's High Ropes Course consists of 15 challenges suspended 24 feet in the
air! This course focuses on the individual as they are "challenged by
choice," learn more about themselves, and hopefully grow as
people. This course is led by trained Cedarkirk
facilitators. Participants must be 12 and older. |
 |
Low Ropes Initiatives Course*:
Led by trained Cedarkirk staff, the initiatives course provides a great opportunity to learn more about group
dynamics. This course consists of several obstacles that will hopefully challenge and stretch the
brain. Discussion will follow as the group learns about how it communicated and how it can
grow. |
 |
The Labyrinth:
An ancient spiritual tool of the early church, labyrinths were designed to help facilitate our journey as
Christians. The labyrinth at Cedarkirk is outdoors and provides for a different experience, even for experienced
walkers. Pray, sit, and embark on a walk with God. |
 |
The Prayer Garden:
Sit on a bench and enjoy a look at God's
creation. Listen to the sounds of water flowing in a fountain of shell.
The Prayer Garden provides a meditative and peaceful environment, and provides worship space for up to 60
people. |
 |
Campfire:
A Cedarkirk Classic! Enjoy hearing a yarn told by Cedarkirk staff, or a member of your
group, as you sit by a blazing fire. Groups enjoy sitting beside a toasty fire singing songs, sharing memories, laughing, and
worshiping. Perhaps there is even room for a s'more or dough boy. |
 |
Sand Volleyball:
A recent addition to Cedarkirk, the sand volleyball court was built by the Senior High Leadership program and provides hours of entertainment for all
ages. |
 |
Field Games:
Amory Field is a large multi-purpose playing
field. Imagine a lively game of ultimate frisbee, softball, or tag as you run and laugh on a large patch of green
earth. |
 |
Zip Lining*:
Our zip line provides both adventure and joy.
After putting on a harness, staff will assist you in zipping across the Alafia
River. You will feel the wind flowing through your hair as you reach the other bank.
A return zip line will return you back across. A joy for all ages! |
 |
Archery*: To the
line. Pick up your bow. Knock your first arrow. Range
Clear! Fire! Cedarkirk's archery range helps find the Robin Hood in us
all. Skilled staff will help teach you how to hold a bow, knock your arrow, and hopefully hit a
target. |
